L'Amuleto - The Amulet

[ENGLISH BELOW] L'amuleto ed il talismano sono strumenti utilizzati fin dall'antichità in tantissime tradizioni. Il loro utilizzo varia in base al secolo e allo scopo , venivano usati soprattutto come strumento di protezione e per attirare la fortuna.
L'etimologia della parola amuleto è incerta , si pensa derivi dal latino o dal greco ed il suo significato sia collegato al "tenere lontano" oppure riferito ad un alimento usato nelle offerente e quindi usato per propiziare e richiedere protezione.
Seppur sinonimi si crede ci sia differenza tra l'amuleto e il talismano, quest'ultimo dovrebbe rappresentare un amuleto carico di energia, lavorata per raggiungere uno scopo e quasi sempre "attirare a se" la buona sorte , a l'amuleto invece viene attribuito un significato prevalentemente magico e anche di difesa , un energia attiva in uscita .
Gli amuleti possono essere rappresentati da diversi oggetti , tra cui elementi naturali come pietre, minerali , ossa , piante, corna e denti , oppure con monili come anelli, collane , monete e pendenti.
Le tipologie di amuleti variano tantissimo in base alla cultura ed alla società, tante sono anche le simbologie legate ad una tradizione che fungono da talismani e amuleti. Spesso semplicemente le simbologie che rappresentano il divino, nelle religioni sopratutto , vengono considerati potenti amuleti. Fin dai tempi gli amuleti sono presenti nelle usanze comuni ,in molte antiche culture si dilettavano nella creazione di talismani e amuleti , alcuni arrivati anche ai giorni nostri. Gli stessi venivano attivati con rituali specifici e incantesimi.
Il processo più comune per creare un talismano è scegliere il componente da utilizzare in base allo scopo , incidere una simbologia inerente ed infine caricarlo di energia attivandolo per lo scopo.

The amulet and the talisman are instruments used since ancient times in many traditions. Their use varies according to the century and to the purpose, they were used above all as a tool of protection and to attract the fortune.
The etymology of the word amulet is uncertain, it is thought to derive from the Latin or Greek and its meaning is linked to "keep away" or referred to a food used in the offerer and therefore used to propitiate and require protection.
Although it is believed that there is a difference between the amulet and the talisman, the latter should represent an amulet full of energy, worked to achieve a goal and almost always "attract to itself" good luck, to the amulet instead it is attributed a predominantly magical and defensive meaning, an active energy coming out.
Amulets can be represented by different objects, including natural elements such as stones, minerals, bones, plants, horns and teeth, or with jewelry such as rings, necklaces, coins and pendants.
The types of amulets vary a lot depending on the culture and society, there are also many symbols related to a tradition that act as talismans and amulets. Often simply the symbols that represent the divine, especially in religions, are considered powerful amulets. Since the time the amulets are present in the common customs, in many ancient cultures they delighted in the creation of talismans and amulets, some even arrived to the present day. The same were activated with specific rituals and spells.
The most common process to create a talisman is to choose the component to use based on the purpose, to engrave an inherent symbology and finally load it with energy activating it for the purpose.
